Quality performance criteria

3 - EU tyre label testing

Introduced in 2012, the standardized EU tyre label analyzes each tyre under 3 key performance criteria:

  • Fuel efficiency – A measure of the tyre’s rolling resistance, which has an impact on your vehicle’s fuel efficiency. Rated from A (highest rating) to G (lowest rating).
  • Wet grip – A measure of the tyre’s braking ability on wet roads. Wet grip is rated from A (highest rating) to F (lowest rating).
  • External rolling noise - A measure of the external noise generated by the tyre, in decibels. The black sound waves indicate the noise class of the tyre, from 1 (quiet) to 3 (loud).

50 - Sava internal tests

At Sava we believe that the EU tyre Label helps consumers make an informed choice when purchasing new tyres. That’s why we worked together with EU officials on developing the label prior to its introduction.

We also value the input of independent testers and organizations and respect their honest appraisals of our products, again believing they help consumers make an informed choice. That’s why we publish test results alongside our tyre information in brochures and online.

But for us - that's not enough

All our new tyre designs go through no less than 50 performance tests with our experts assessing them under criteria beyond the EU label including :

  • Wet and dry handling and braking
  • Mileage and durability
  • Internal noise
  • Aquaplaning – curved and straight
  • Traction
  • High-speed stability

Our winter season-specific tyres are also tested for traction, handling and braking on ice and snow.
