How do I find my tyre size?

You can find your tire size on the sidewall of your current tire or by checking your ownerʼs manual. Some vehicles will also display the tyre size in the door jamb or glovebox.

What the numbers mean

  • Width

This three-digit number is the width of the tyre in millimeters.

  • Height

The ratio of the tyre height to the tyre width, measured as a percentage. This tyreʼs height is equal to 55% of its width.

  • Rim

The diameter of the rim, measured in inches.

  • Load index

Indicates the maximum load a tyre can support when fully inflated.

  • Speed rating

Indicates the maximum speed at which a tyre is certified for use. The speed rating H indicates that this tyre can be used on vehicles with a maximum speed of 210 km/h or lower.

Other codes you may come across

Some light truck tyres are available with double load indexes for single and dual tyre fitments, e.g. 215 65 R16 106 /102 T.
